The Mont-Blanc tunnel is shorter for north-Italian destinations (Milan, the lakes, Lombardy) but adds a tunnel toll. The coastal route via Ventimiglia is longer but cheaper for tolls and more scenic for southern destinations. We choose the route based on the destination and quote it transparently.
